[From the trip Rarotonga Starling and Amusing Freshwater Prawns]
Just one more day left to go until the Southern Cross is ready to set sail. As it was a beautiful morning Steve Cranwell from Birdlife and I headed up to the Takitumu Conservation Area. I had my first clear look at the Kukupa or Rarotonga Starling ... there was a pair calling high in the branches. I also managed to film the really quite amusing freshwater prawns. The Kakerori were as usual chattering away high in the branches.
